Prosecuters are going to ask for the death penality( in September) against Melissa Huckaby, a 28 year old sunday school teacher who is being charged with kidnapping, murder, lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and rape by instrument. The child was 6 year old Sandra Cantu who was found stuffed in Huckabys suitcase and submerged in a pond.
This story makes my skin crawl. There are certain things that come to mind (when I read about children and the things that have been done to them) and I hope that god has his earplugs in! How can the parent of a child hurt another child like that, how can anyone hurt a child.
A Sunday school teacher?! When you take your kid to Church on Sunday and leave him for an hour in the classroom with his teacher, the last thing you would expect is for her to kill and stuff him into a suitcase! It makes me wonder if this teacher had some psychological problems!
ReplyDeleteIt is not safe anymore for our kids to go outside and just play. We have to watch over them every second they are out. You can never know who is out there watching them as well. One of the reasons why I love my life in Malawi is because my kids can go outside and play from dawn to dusk and no one would bother them!
I can't believe anyone let alone a sunday school teacher would ever do this. She had to have some problems. Can just anyone be a sunday school teacher? Don't they have to be part of the church and in good standing to be a teacher? This is just another step in how dangerous our world is becoming. You can't even send your kids to sunday school alone anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt sad that this is what the world is coming to. Kids cant do no where near what they could 20 years ago. They have more yes, video games and stuff but really what good is that when they aren't safe beyond their own front door?
