In Leavenworth Kansas sometime early on friday morning a mother (Amber Taylor) and her 3 year old daughter were awaked by the sound of gunshots. Three men had broke into their home demanding money from the boyfriend of Amber. In between gunshots the boyfriend managed to push the button on the alarm and the men ran out.
I know that this situation was indeed a scary one, exspecially for a three year old child, but, they have focused on the fear of he woman in this story with no comments on how the man is doing who was shot twice.
Things like this happen all of the time, and fewer and fewer are reported on in the papers. We have become so used to hearing about this sort of thing that noone pays much attention anymore to the feelings of the victims. I think that in this case they should have given more information on the victim that was shot. People are naturally curious and are going to want to know if her survived.
I would liked to have seen some more information on the boyfriend. I am sorry for the child and the mother needs to understand that there is no one type of people in which this sort of thing happens to. Not knowing or hanging around the wrong type of people will not allways protect you.
The world is a scary place and I think its getting scarier. I dont remember all this as a child but too im from a town that in my whole life, 34 years there was only one murder. It seems to grow and grow and the hate in people it growing too. The thought of a 3 yr old being there is the worst. She might not remember but it being such a dramatic thing she actually might remember. My first memory was when I was only 2 years old but I think its because it was something tragic is why I remember. I remember the day Elvis died. And i dont actually remember his dying I just remember my dad coming home and telling my mom something and that she was vacuming the living room and she broke down and cried. SO things are very possible to remember at a young age. Especially something tragic.
