In Pittsburg Kansas on Monday, a 3 year old boy (Jackson C. Chopra), was seriously injured after falling off of the lawn mower that he was riding on with his father and 5 year old sister. The father stated that he was giving the children a ride when Jackson fell off and his arm passed under the deck of the mower.
Why would you not let off of the gas as soon as the child started to fall? And, what were they doing on the mower to cause the child to fall in the first place?
I own a riding lawn mower, and my son rides with me, but, I make sure that he is seated safely before the machine is even engaged. I do not understand how this happened. In the mere thought that my child may be slipping, the movement would all come to a fast stop. We are all taught safety around mowers as young children, why would he allow what ever unsafe act, that caused his son to fall, even begin?
My prayers are with Jackson, may his tiny arm be ok.
